The Consumers Guide to Online Notarization

Remote Online Notarization - (RON)

Remote Online Notarization is here and Yes! It’s Legal!

You don’t think about needing a Notary until you need a Notary. Then there is never one around when you need them. Gone are the days of searching for a Notary to help you with your Notary needs.

Remote online notarization (RON) has been made legal in Nevada making your Notary needs easy to complete. RON is performed with a digital device such as a smartphone, tablet or computer, a web cam and a secure internet connection.

Prior to signing any documents, you will meet with a Notary on a secure online platform for your Notary Session. The Notary will verify your identity with a 2 step process, first by using a KBA (Knowledge Based Authentication) process where you will answer a series of questions about your past personal and credit history.

Second, you will be asked to scan your ID card for a credential analysis as a 2nd form of identity verification.

Next, you’ll upload the documents that you need to have signed and notarized. You’ll need to be sure that all blanks on the documents are completed with the required information or write in N/A as the Notary can not notarize a document with missing information or blank spaces.

The Notary will then administer any Oaths that are required and then you will sign your document with your electronic signature. You’ll receive a completed, notarized document following final payment. The Notary session is always video and audio recorded and stored electronically in case you ever need to prove the validity of the notarization. That’s it! You’re all done!
